The following are tweets directed to a twitter friend about the firing of Susan Crockford who destroyed the mythology that Polar Bears are decreasing in numbers due to climate change and Michael Mann lawsuit against Tim Ball.
What I find fascinating
is that Mann and others can equate Climate Skeptics with Holocaust deniers
(thus the origin of the term deniers) and others phrases but criticized these
guys, it becomes a court case. They can dish it out but not take it.
Plus their strategy of
lawsuits is to bankrupt their opponents or silence them since they are not
interested in a scientific debate. If they had a fair scientific debate, they
would lose.
I would invite anyone to
see various interchanges that alarmists get involved in with skeptics, alarmist
more often lose. Even when they set the rules of engagement, their science is
inferior.
I have seen Marc Moreno
destroy scientists with ease. Most alarmist won’t debate skeptics and even
Galvin Schmidt won’t go face to face after losing to Lindzen a few years back.
If Skeptics science is weak, they should not be able to hold their own or
defeat alarmists.
Finally the various
thread I follow, I notice how these same alarmist who talk we must worship
science supported the firing of Crockford and no where to be seen to defend
academic freedom when Ridd was fired.
Yes not one alarmists on
these threads found any mistakes with Crockford’s work. Enough said.
Among the many absurd accusations being carelessly hurled around by the Democrats these days is the most absurd of all: that the President is violating the Constitution. In fact, we are seeing another example of the Left’s habit of accusing the President – and conservatives in general – of committing the very crimes that they themselves have actually committed. The most egregious example of this behavior is the Democrats’ accusations that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to overthrow the 2016 election, when in fact the Clintons and their campaign had a long – and very profitable — influence-peddling scheme going on, using the Clinton Foundation as their cover – to the tune of over $100 million! Even the Mueller fiasco could not find evidence of Trump involvement.
In this case, Nancy Pelosi, through Adam Schiff, Jerrold Nadler and their cohorts, have all but destroyed any U.S. president’s ability to carry on foreign policy. What leader of a foreign government is going to want to talk confidentially with the American president when they have a well-founded fear of their conversation being broadcast to the public? The same goes for American diplomats.
What about the president talking with his own people? Executive privilege is a necessary prerogative in order for the president to perform his job of leading this massive administrative state. The Dems are heedlessly trying to destroy this necessary shield by their subpoenas of Administration officials to present testimony against their own boss. In this they have so far been aided by the feckless judiciary. If there does not arise some respect for the Office of the President on the part of higher courts, the very exercise of Executive Privilege will become the “High misdemeanors” the Dems are looking for.
The most drastic move of the zealots in the House is their attempt to place their own judgement of the President’s legitimacy over that of the American public by attempting to overthrow the sitting president before the already scheduled election less than a year hence. If this is not a blatant attempt to exercise raw power, it will do until a military coup comes along. To make matters worse, the proceedings are being conducted IN SECRET! While the procedures leading to impeachment are not prescribed in any detail in the founding documents of the republic – probably because the Founders never envisioned a serious attack on the president’s right to exercise his office – there have been procedural precedents set by the three other impeachment efforts in American history (Andrew Johnson 1867, Richard Nixon 1974, William Clinton 1996). These procedures constitute due process and cannot in good conscience be abandoned without adequate substitutes.
Due process of law is guaranteed by the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution. Surely the President of the United States is due the same rights as any other citizen. In this regard, there is another precedent being abandoned by these outlaws, namely the secrecy of the Grand Jury proceedings.
Schiff is demanding that the seal of secrecy which exists for the Grand Juries which heard the accusations of the Mueller investigation be broken and made public. And (unbelievably) an Obama federal judge has so ordered. This means that the ultimate decision as to further action against a defendant which has already been made by a properly constituted Grand Jury can now be exploited by a group of politicians whose motives are suspect at best. And the witnesses may be summoned before Congress on the basis of prior testimony. Our already flawed judicial system stands to be further compromised.
We have been told that Polar Bears population would drop significantly close to extinction but the opposite happens. Crockford work demolished an important selling point of climate change impact upon Arctic creatures.
This should have forced a reevaluation of some claims made but instead it saw the firing of the scientist who debunked these claims So far no credible scientist have challenged her claims and her research is excellent on this score. The reality is that questionable science has been used to back alarmist claims from the Medieval Warming Period not happening despite some 1000 plus studies saying otherwise to Polar Bears are dying.
The weakness of the science is becoming more obvious as the empiric evidence don’t support the main thesis that the increase of CO2 is having overall negative result on the planet. Professor Crockford story is instructive.
This is not about the science but it is about politics and the use of this to transform our society into a socialist paradise or whatever. I once told a researcher on Heartland Institute who wins the political battle wins the scientific battle.
He told me that the science will win and our side have the science. I told him it is irrelevant about the Science since his opponent are not fighting in the scientific realm but the political realm.
This proves my point that scientific battle is secondary to the political battle. When the science goes against the Alarmist they either change the subject, censor the sources that disagrees with them or simply manipulate the data to get what they want.
By Dr. Larry Fedewa (October 12, 2019) The contrast could not have been starker: 20,000 people inside and 25,000 people outside the Minneapolis Target Center on Thursday night, having a great time at a Trump rally compared to a few hundred angry protesters in the parking lot taunting police, breaking things and burning confiscated property. The threat of further violence was thick in the air, particularly as the audience began to leave for home after the event. The fact that no one was hurt appears to have been due to the very visible presence of the police, who were out in force. Political protest is one of the rights of all Americans. But violence in the name of free speech is NOT a right. The American Left seems to have trouble recognizing this fact. Nor do they recognize the rights of conservatives who also have the right to free speech, as witnessed by all the effective blocks of conservative speakers on U.S. campuses. But what do the thought leaders of the Democrat Party have to do with violence in the streets? Most of the time, they weren’t even there.
The answer is in their words. Namely, the apocalyptic tone of so many of their messages. A good example is the leader of their Party, Nancy Pelosi, who speaks of this President as bringing about the “end of our democracy”, “violating the Constitution”, and the like. Talk about condemnation without a trial! She and her co-conspirators are condemning the President first and looking for evidence later. Even more apocalyptic is the rhetoric of the radical wing of the party who are predicting the end of the world unless their insane recommendations for climate control are heeded. “Seven years left to sustain a habitable planet!” “Eliminate fossil fuels or die!” Their “Green America” agenda is packed with outlandish proposals. All this rhetoric is bound to stir up extreme reactions. It is intended to. Fear can be a great motivator. It can also overcome logic, common sense and science. Witness the huge reaction of youths during their March 15, 2019 international strike for climate change.
It is also inciting to riot. The irresponsible talk by the leaders of the Democrat Party has let the genie of violence out of the bottle. It seems inevitable that protests like the one in Minneapolis will evolve between now and November 3, 2020 into violence – UNLESS the rhetoric of the candidates and leaders of the Democrat Party cools off. Even then, it may be too late!
As usual, the Dems accuse the Right of committing the very sins the Left are in fact guilty of – whether they be conspiracy, corruption, or in this case violence. In Minneapolis, the supporters of the President were having an exciting but peaceful event. The protesters were the villains in this story – as they have been in so many demonstrations, riots and marches. The days of Martin Luther King, Jr. and non-violent protests are long gone.
The Donelson Files@Donelsonfiles·7mFor years the NBA was the social warrior league, willing to take stances against what their coaches and owners viewed as injustice. The recent China-NBA has exposed something ugly.
The NBA is not the only businesses kowtowing to the Chinese but Charles Barkley in a statement defending the NBA made it clear. It is about the billion of dollars the NBA has at stake. Barkley is not wrong and while you may disagree with his stance, he is being truthful.
The question that will be raised, does this hurt the moral authority of the league, players and coaches who speak out on other issues. I would say yes, others may disagree.
NBA is not the only business that has surrender to the Chinese but it does show a disturbing trend, the number of companies willing to censor themselves to keep making billions. Chinese have succeeded in getting Americans give up principles for money.
We are getting a taste of what Chinese dominated world will look like. It will be a dark age for liberty and rise of National socialistic or fascist states throughout the world, subservient to China.
As for American companies, the very people who were the biggest defenders of free market will look askew at these companies and capitalism in general when they see companies giving up their freedom for almighty dollars.
For years the NBA was the social warrior league, willing to take stances against what their coaches and owners viewed as injustice. The recent China-NBA has exposed something ugly.
Astros vs Yankees for American league pennants and Cards vs Washington Nats. Thoughts, Astros go for second World Series in three years, Yankees haven’t won a title in a decade, which is a lifetime for Yankee fans. Cards were not the powerhouse but they did win Central.
Plus they have won more world series than any other National League teams and number two behind Yankees. Two World Series this century. This is the third edition of Washington baseball.
The original Senators ended up in Minnesota, the second Senators went to Texas and this edition came from Montreal. No fans from Washington have seen a team in the World Series since 1933 and seen a winning World Series since 1924. They won the AL pennant in 1924 and 25.

On October 5, 2019 at Madison Square Garden, New York, Gennady Golovkin faced Sergey Derevyanchenko for the vacant IBF middleweight championship. Golovkin began the fight dropping Derevyanchenko in the first round and a left hook open up a cut over Derenyuanchenko and it look like this could be an early night for GGG and visions of a third Canelo Alvarez-GGG fight.
Derenyuanchenko sensing time was running out, came out fighting in the third round as he hit Golovkin from angles including body shots. This round saw Derenyuanchenko sending a message, “I am not done yet.”
During the fourth round, Golovkin landed a four punch combination by a left hook as he targeted his opponent cut but Derevyuanchenko showed great chin as he took this onslaught and landed a left right combo that for a brief moment stopped Golovkin in his track and during rounds, the doctor looked at Derevyanchenko’s eye but Derevyanchenko came out for the fifth and in the round, he nailed Golovkin with a left to the body and then landed a combination that stunned Golovkin near the end of the round. Referee broke up the action and that gave Golovkin quick moments to recover before the bell ended the round.
The sixth round saw Derevyanchenko swarmed all over Golovkin as he nailed the Triple G’s with body shots and while Golovkin countered with right hands, Dervyanchenko smacked Golovkin back with his own punches. Not even Alvarez pushed Golovkin like Dervyanchenko did in the sixth. As we approached the halfway mark, it was a tight fight and Golovkin found himself in a battle. Forget about Alvarez, Golovkin needed to win this fight and after an easy first two rounds in which he knocked down his opponent and cut him, he was now in a war.
Throughout the seventh round, Derevyanchenko threw crisp combinations but Golovkin landed big shots and this was his round as Derevyanchenko eyes was still bleeding. In between rounds the ring doctor reexamine the eye as the corner worked hard to stop the bleeding.
The eighth round was another Golovkin round in my estimation but Derevyanchenko scored as he maneuvered out of harm’s way on couple of times when it appeared that Golovkin had the advantage.
(During fights I do keep tabs on various sites and twitter and one of my favorites is Rosie Perez who is not only a good actor, but she is avid boxing fan who knows the sport. After eight rounds, she observed, “Derevyanchenko has better footwork and mobility than I thought going in. GGG is exhibiting a fine display of economical offenses and accurate power punching but he’s being outworked not necessarily out pointed.”)
The final four rounds proved tough for triple G and the fate of his future in boxing hanged in the balance Golovkin snapped Derevyanchenko head back with is jab but Derveyancheno was quick to counter in a round that was hard to judge and could have gone either way. Derevyanchko came out cracking in the tenth as he landed a flurry of punches and just like previous rounds, Derevyanchko countered whenever Golovkin landed his heavy shots.
Going into the championship rounds, the eleventh and the twelfth, Derevyanchko got inside and tried to push his way into triple G’s chest to force the action as his blood spattered over the both fighters. The last two rounds were close and could have been scored for either fighter.
This is the problem with this fight. It was close affair and the Compubox numbers show this. Golovkin connected on more punches in 6 of the 12 rounds while Derevyanchenko connected on more in punches in 5 of the rounds with one even. Golovkin connected on slightly more punches 243 to 230 and his connect percentage was slight higher, 34% to 31%. Golovkin was more effective with his jab and connected on a higher percentage of his power punches but Derevyanchenko threw more power punches and landed more.
Rosie Perez observed, that most ringside observers had the fight for Derevyanchenko, but she scored the fight 115-112 for triple G’S which is the same score I had but she noted that a 114-113 score would be fair as would a draw. When fans booed the decisions, she remarked, “Broke my heart they booed a great fighter. How quick and easy, fans turn on a great fighter,” and she added that there were fights that Triple G’s may have been robbed.
Golovkin looked old and even Rosie remarked how many shots he has taken in past fights and certainly in this fight as well. He looked like an older fighter and there were times that quite frankly that he would wilt but champions find ways to win.
Boxing fans have seen some great fights including the recent Porter-Spence fight and Tyson Fury who survived a severe cut to win 12 round decisions to maintain his lineal championship claim against Wallin. What boxing fans witnessed is what happens when promoters put great fighters against each other in the ring, they get to see great fights that create the excitement and increase the interest in other great fights down the road. In the heavyweight division along with welterweight and Middleweight division, there are some intriguing match ups worth getting excited about. Let hope that they happen.
By Dr. Larry Fedewa (October 5,2019)The Attorney General of the United States is investigating the nearly successful coup d’etat 2015-17 which attempted to overthrow the President of the United States. Since there is evidence of interaction between the American conspirators and several foreign countries, including the United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine, China, Australia, and perhaps others, the AG asked the President to help him open doors in these countries.
The President then asked for this assistance during his telephone conversations with the leaders of these countries. As in any such conversations, the two leaders engage in some bargaining – some subtle and some explicit. Both assume that their conversations are protected by Executive Privilege from public disclosure.
On July 25, 2019 the President talked to the new President of the Ukraine government. It happens that the $400+ million military aid grant from the US to Ukraine has been held up since the spring, presumably because of the Ukrainian election and change of administrations.
It also happens that former Vice President Joseph Biden, now running for the Democrats’ presidential nomination, has long been mentioned as having used his position to shield his son, called Hunter Biden, from investigation by the Ukrainian government for corruption. Since there is evidence of Ukrainian input to the American conspiracy, the US President asked the Ukrainian President for his cooperation in finding out the truth behind this story.
The case was centered on the younger Biden being named a Board member of a Ukrainian energy company with a handsome stipend (now reported as $83,000 per month), simply and solely because of his last name. The senior Biden has even bragged on television about how he succeeded in threatening to withhold US military aid to Ukraine – fighting the Russians in Crimea at the time – unless the Ukrainian government fired a prosecutor who was investigating the company which was paying his son.
Did President Trump do something wrong as the Democrats alleged (before having read the transcript)? Certainly he was not attentive enough to appearances – Mr. Trump is not known for subtlety. But a crime? Or a “high crime or misdemeanor” worthy of impeachment? That is pure fantasy. Since it comes right on the heels of the failure of the Mueller Report to provide a credible basis for impeachment, these charges seem to reflect a last-ditch effort to discredit the President sufficiently to prevent his reelection next year. That interpretation also would explain why the hurry. Time is running out before the presidential campaign hits high gear. With a Republican majority in the Senate, it is extremely unlikely that there would be the 67 votes necessary to convict a Republican President. The current effort is therefore best understood as part of the 2020 campaign. There are many extraneous charges, arguments, and issues being raised regarding the identity of the whistleblower, the House Intelligence Committee procedures, the House protocols, subpoenas, executive privilege, the role of the President’s personal attorney, etc. But the fact remains that the intelligence community, initially led by Obama’s CIA Director John Brennan and DNI chief James Clapper, have a long history of attempting to sabotage this President.
So don’t be fooled: it’s not really that complicated.
